WRONGFUL DEATH AND MEDIATION VIDEO
Help others understand a life and the loss left behind.
A living-with-loss video brings together thoughtful interviews and approved personal materials to document a person’s life, relationships and the effects of their death. KDay Video works with counsel and participants to shape a clear, personal presentation for wrongful death litigation and mediation.

Give relationships and everyday loss meaningful context
Records can establish events, but the people closest to someone can explain their place in daily life. A living-with-loss presentation gives those accounts room to be heard, with specific memories and experiences guiding the story.
A person’s life
Use approved photographs, recordings and personal accounts to introduce the person and the roles they held in their family and community.
Relationships and routines
Explore shared experiences, responsibilities and ordinary moments. Concrete details help explain what a relationship meant to the people involved.
Life after the loss
Allow participants to describe the changes they have experienced in their own words. The approach makes space for honest accounts without asking anyone to manufacture emotion.
A thoughtful process from conversation to delivery
01
Establish the purpose
Discuss the legal context, intended audience and review process with counsel. Agree on the themes, participants and materials relevant to the presentation.
02
Prepare with care
Plan interview locations, consent, topics and privacy boundaries. Discuss participants’ comfort and availability, and identify photographs or recordings that may be included with permission.
03
Record personal accounts
Create a comfortable setting for interviews and allow time for participants to respond in their own words. Questions guide the conversation while leaving room for the details that matter to each person.
04
Shape and review the presentation
Organize interviews and approved materials into an agreed edit for counsel’s review. Confirm selections, revisions, file formats and any additional versions within the project scope before delivery.
What to prepare for an initial conversation
Share your firm, the general purpose of the project, interview location and any mediation or other important dates. An initial list of potential participants and available photographs or recordings can help define the scope. Detailed case records are not needed for the first inquiry; discuss how to share sensitive materials before sending them.
